FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Do I need a referral from a doctor or psychiatrist to access your services?
No, you can call or e-mail Monique directly. She will access if Prusik Youth Services will be an appropriate fit for you or your child.
Does insurance cover your fees?
Yes, many extended health care plans, such as Blue Cross, provide some level of coverage for fees. Please check with your specific health care plan as to whether or not they cover counselling services provided by Masters in Social Work therapists.
How long is an individual session?
A therapy session is one hour. If deemed appropriate, sessions will sometimes go longer than an hour. Clients will only be expected to pay the fee for one session with no additional over-time fees unless the session is longer at the request of the client.
Is there a cancellation fee?
Prusik requires 48 hours notice by phone or e-mail with the exception of an unexpected family emergency or sickness. At the therapist’s discretion, you may be charged for missing appointments.
I have no health insurance: is there a fee reduction?
Prusik offers a sliding fee schedule based on personal income. Please see “Fees” above.
How many individual therapy sessions do I need to attend?
The length of your therapy and the number of sessions that you attend depend on the client’s goals in therapy, and readiness for change. Sessions can be terminated at any time, but it is appreciated if the therapist is made aware of reasons for termination.
